The Toyota Highlander was introduced in the U.S. in January, 2001. The second generation Highlander was revealed in 2007. In March 2013, Toyota unveiled the third generation of the Highlander cross-over SUV. The 2019 Toyota Highlander is a member of the third generation of the mid-size cross-over. Through changes and facelifts the Highlander continues to feature the performance and safety associated with the Toyota name.
2019 Toyota Highlander Interior
The Highlander seats up to eight people comfortably. Some models feature a third row that reclines as well as heated second row seats. A 60/40 split design in the third row gives versatility for hauling people, additional cargo or both. Additional cargo space can be achieved by folding the seats flat. The highlander cabin is designed for reduced external noise and a quieter ride. A panoramic moonroof is available for those who want a more unobstructed view of natural surroundings. Five USB charging ports are available to help keep you connected to the world outside. Some models have a Blu-Ray Disc entertainment system in the rear seating area that helps keep passengers from being bored on the road. Included with the system is a nine inch display screen with RCA jacks, two wireless headphone sets and a remote control.
2019 Toyota Highlander Safety
Named an IIHS Top Safety Pick and awarded an NHTSA 5-Star Safety Rating, the 2019 Highlander is committed to safety. The Highlander is equipped with Toyota;s Star Safety System. The Star Safety System is a group of safety features that assist with maintaining control on the road. Features include Traction Control, Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Anti-lock Brakes, Brake Assist with Smart Stop technology and Electronic Brake Force Distribution. The airbag system features side curtain airbags with roll sensing technology. To keep the youngsters safe, the Highlander features the Lower Anchor and Tether for children system(LATCH). Available technologies that help avoid hidden obstacles include a Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system and a Blind Spot Monitor. Standard safety features on the 2019 Highlander include Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P). The TSS-P suite of features include Automatic High Beams, Lane Departure Alert, a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Toyota Safety Sense P is designed to help avoid potential collisions on the road.
2019 Toyota Highlander Technology
A Driver Easy Speak feature allows drivers to use a built-in microphone to speak to rear passengers through the speakers of the car. A Bird’s Eye View camera is an available feature that gives drivers a 360 degree view around the car. For comfort, drivers and passengers alike can enjoy the tri-zone climate control feature. An eight inch touchscreen is included with the available Entune Multimedia Bundle. The touchscreen allows drivers to access Sirius XM Satellite radio, navigation and other popular apps.
