When PC Magazine evaluated today’s leading vehicles, it put only one truck on its 10 Best High-Tech List. With its Editors’ Choice designation, the Tacoma moves to the head of the pack in more ways than one. Already it is a best-selling mid-sized car with top ratings from Edmunds and Kelley Blue Book. The PC Magazine award cements its role as a tech leader. The editors like much about the truck’s advanced systems, including its new Entune interface and its exclusive GoPro Mount. They also like its more refined interior.

Performance Choice
Power is always good, and its especially good for a busy truck. As PC Magazine notes, the TRD Sport has a V-6 engine that is an improvement over the previous model. While it actually requires less fuel, it manages to generate 42 more horses. Naturally this also increases its payload and tow ratings. Another aspect that the editors like is the way that the rear-wheel models now share the same raised suspension and ground clearance as the four-wheel models. “By balancing new tech with tried-and-true performance,” write the magazine editors, “the fully redesigned 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4×4 retains its leading position in the midsize truck segment.”
