All 2019 Camry models are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P). Toyota Safety Sense is a suite of driver assist features that are designed to help reduce the likelihood of an accident. The TSS-P features include a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, a lane departure alert with steering assist, dynamic radar cruise control and automatic high beams. The pre-collision system with pedestrian detection uses radar and an in-vehicle camera to detect other vehicles or people in front of the car. This system warns drivers of the possibility of an impending collision giving the driver an opportunity to react and possibly avoid an accident. When a road is marked clearly, and the vehicle is travelling at a speed of at least 32 miles per hour, the lane departure alert feature is activated. This feature gives a visual and auditory warning if the car begins to drift from its lane, giving the driver a chance to correct the steering and remain in the appropriate lane. Dynamic radar cruise control (DRCC), like constant speed cruise control, allows drivers to set a pre-determined speed and uses vehicle-to-vehicle distance control to help maintain the speed. The vehicle-to-vehicle distance control of this feature uses a grille-mounted radar and an in-vehicle camera to determine the Camry’s distance from preceding vehicles. If the preceding vehicle is moving slower than the Camry, the DRCC slows the car while maintaining cruise control. Audio and visual warnings are given and the brakes are engaged if the Camry needs to travel slower. When it is safe, the Camry automatically resumes the preset speed. Designed to make driving at night an easier task, the automatic high beams activate at speeds above 25 miles per hour. They detect the level of ambient lighting and the lights of on-coming vehicles to switch automatically between low and high beams to provide the appropriate amount of light for driving.

Camry offers a choice of a 2.5 liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder engine or a 3.5 liter V6 engine. Either engine is paired with a direct shift eight-speed automatic transmission. Camry offers three drive modes to give drivers more control when travelling. Those modes are Eco,which maximizes efficiency, Sport,which gives a feeling of sharper acceleration and Normal which blends economy with performance.
